WHAT WE DO
We study how the cryosphere is affected by Anthropocene climate change using remote sensing data and NCU's strong Earth sciences community. We collaborate with experts worldwide, and our research highlights the changes in the global cryosphere and the challenges of sustainable development.
Our team is conducting joint research with experts from the United States, Canada, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, Austria, and Japan. Additionally, we are working alongside different teams from the Taiwan Polar Institute to carry out Taiwan’s first cross-cutting Arctic research program.
We currently focus on these research topics:
Mass balance of glaciers and ice sheets
Mechanisms of glacier dynamics and stability
Software development for glacier remote sensing
Subglacial hydrology and outburst flood monitoring
Applications of environmental data science in the cryosphere
